Step 1: Complete a State-Approved Training Course

Before you can apply for a Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), you must complete a state-approved firearms training course. Our class is approved by the State of Louisiana and the USCCA.

Step 2: Gather Your Documents

After completing the course, you will receive a training certificate. You will also need:

• A valid Louisiana driver's license or state ID
• Your original training certificate
• Two passport-size photos
• Proof of citizenship (birth certificate or passport)
• The required state application fee

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Louisiana residents can submit their CHP application through the Louisiana State Police online portal. You will upload your training certificate, pay the fee, and schedule fingerprinting. The state typically processes applications within 45–90 days.
